St. Patrick’s is coming to D.J. Quinn’s!

St. Patrick’s is coming to D.J. Quinn’s!

We wouldn’t be an Irish pub if we didn’t celebrate the most important day in the calendar, which is why this St. Patrick’s we’re hosting five celebrations throughout March, including live music, sports and plenty of craic.

On Thursday, March 12th we’re taking a take a trip to the Cheltenham Races March Meeting, with a coach trip from the pub! Sponsored by Magners, the races sees some of the best from across the country compete ahead of the Gold Cup. Spaces on the coach are only £20pp and cab be purchased via Eventbrite here. Please note that this is a ticket for the coach and that tickets to the races are sold separately. Those who can’t make the races won’t miss out on the action as on Friday, March 13th we’ll screen the Gold Cup races on the big screens, followed by live music from celebrated artist Ash Sheehan. Drummer for The Twang and a member of Dead Sea Skulls, Ash Sheehan is a prolific drummer, guitarist and singer who got everyone dancing on our opening night and on Boxing Day 2018, we can’t wait to have him back for round three!

The weekend’s festivities continue with screenings of all Six Nations Rugby Super Saturday games on Saturday, March 14th. We’ll be watching closely as France V Ireland closes the day’s sports, before Guest List perform live until late. Once everyone’s waved off the parade in town we’ll be singing and dancing on Sunday, March 15th with one of favourites Slibhin, performing live trad and acoustic tunes to keep the festivities going.

Last but not least on the most important day on the calendar we have Ire-Ish – four (sort of) Irish lads from Birmingham who play a mixture of Irish folk and rebel tunes, known for their viral “Fairytale of New Street” Christmas Carol. They’ll be bringing the celebrations on Tuesday, 17th March, whilst we keep the perfectly poured Guinness flowing!

All of these exciting events come alongside a refurb to D.J. Quinn’s, with new outdoor areas and ladies loos sprucing the pub up for 2020, not to mention our weekly open mics, pub quizzes and sports screenings. Tickets for the Cheltenham races are only £20pp, whilst all our St. Patrick’s events are free entry!
